Nottingham Forest have completed the signing of striker Liam Delap from Chelsea in a club-record deal worth up to £50 million.
The 23-year-old forward has signed a five-year contract with the City Ground club, becoming the most expensive signing in the club's history.
According to reports, the deal is worth an initial £45 million plus £5 million in add-ons, which could see Chelsea make a profit of up to £20 million on the player just a year after signing him.
Delap joined Chelsea from Ipswich Town in the summer of 2025 for £30 million amid interest from Manchester United and Everton. He scored 12 goals in 37 appearances for Ipswich in the 2024-25 season before making the move to Stamford Bridge.
However, the striker endured a difficult season at Chelsea, struggling with injuries and poor form, which limited his impact in his only season at the club.

The fee surpasses the club's previous record of £37.5 million paid to sign Omari Hutchinson from Ipswich Town last summer.
Speaking after completing the move, Delap described Nottingham Forest as a massive club with a big history and expressed delight at joining the team.
The striker came through Derby County's youth system before joining Manchester City in 2019. He has since had loan spells at Stoke City, Preston North End and Hull City before his breakout season at Ipswich.
Nottingham Forest will be hoping that Delap can rediscover his best form at the City Ground and help the team improve on their performance from last season.
He could make his debut for his new club on Saturday when Forest face a difficult trip to Anfield to take on Liverpool in the Premier League.
The transfer also represents good business for Chelsea, who will make a significant profit on a player who failed to establish himself as a regular starter at Stamford Bridge.
Forest have been active in the transfer market this summer as they look to build a squad capable of competing in the top half of the Premier League table.
