A 23-year-old undergraduate of Microbiology at Delta State University, Abraka, Prince Daniel Afamefune Chukwujindu, has emerged as the 11th Ajeh of Ekwuoma Kingdom in Ika North East Local Government Area of Delta State.
According to information obtained by DailyVista247, Prince Daniel succeeds his late father, King Chinedu Samuel Chukwujindu, Ezeagu-Ukpo I, and was formally enthroned on Friday following the completion of the burial rites of the late monarch who died on June 2, 2026. His emergence followed the age-long tradition of primogeniture in Ekwuoma, under which the first son of a reigning monarch succeeds his father.
The tradition ensures continuity in the royal lineage and preserves the cultural heritage of the kingdom. It is a well-respected custom that has guided succession in Ekwuoma for generations, ensuring stability and respect for the royal family. The people of the kingdom have continued to uphold this ancient practice as a symbol of unity and cultural identity and pride.
Speaking after his installation as Ezeagu-Ukpo II, the new Ajeh expressed appreciation to the people of Ekwuoma for their confidence and support and pledged to uphold the customs and traditions of the kingdom while promoting peace, unity and development across the community. He noted that his reign would focus on fostering harmony and attracting development to the area for the benefit of all residents.
"I appreciate the people of Ekwuoma for their confidence and support. I pledge to uphold the customs and traditions of our kingdom and promote peace, unity and development," he said.
The young monarch called on all sons and daughters of Ekwuoma to unite behind the traditional institution and contribute actively to the development of the kingdom. He emphasized that collective effort is needed to build a stronger and more prosperous community for future generations. He added that the youth and elders must work together to preserve the values of the kingdom and promote peaceful coexistence.

Ezeagu-Ukpo II also stressed the importance of cooperation among the traditional institution, government and the people in addressing challenges confronting the kingdom.
According to him, synergy between the palace, government authorities and residents will help fast-track development projects and improve the living conditions of the people. He maintained that dialogue and mutual understanding would remain central to his leadership style throughout his reign.
"The traditional institution, government and our people must cooperate to address the challenges facing Ekwuoma and advance the development of our kingdom," the monarch said.
