South Africa World Cup star, Jayden Adams dies aged 25

South Africa and Mamelodi Sundowns midfielder Jayden Adams has died at the age of 25, less than a month after featuring for his country at the 2026 FIFA World Cup.

 Adams played in all three of South Africa’s group games at the tournament, up against co-hosts Mexico, Czechia and South Korea in Group A, with Bafana Bafana eventually being eliminated in the Round of 32 knockouts by Canada.
The sad news was confirmed by South Africa’s minister of sport, arts and culture Gayton McKenzie.

Further updates are expected in due course, and local police have open investigation to find out the cause of his death

Manchester United sign Brazil midfielder Andrey Santos from Chelsea

Manchester United have completed the signing of Brazil midfielder Andrey Santos from Chelsea in a deal worth up to £50 million, both clubs said on ‌Monday. The 22-year-old joins the Red Devils on a contract until June 2031, with the option of a further year, after United agreed to pay an initial £48 million plus £2 million in performance-related add-ons. Chelsea will also retain a 10 per cent sell-on clause. Ex-Minister Uche Nnaji to be arraigned over certificate forgery

A former Minister of Innovation, Science and Technology, Uche Nnaji, is set to be arraigned before a federal high court on Monday, 13 July 2026 Mr Nnaji is expected to be arraigned before Justice Abdulmalik Joyce of the Federal High Court, Abuja by the Independent Corrupt Practices and Other Related Offences Commission (ICPC), the anti-graft agency prosecuting the former minister. Sources involved in his investigation said Mr Nnaji’s planned arraignment followed the conclusion of the investigation into his certificate forgery scandal and filing of criminal charges against the former minister. The ICPC filed six criminal charges against Mr Nnaji over his certificate forgery scandal.
